Horse riding for a good cause

A charity horse ride will go ahead this month to coincide with Macmillian’s biggest annual fundraising event.

Belinda Tyler is organising the ride on Saturday September 22 from 10am until 2.30pm at Park Farm Equestrian and Chasers in Stanford On Avon.

The event is shortly before Macmillan hold their World’s Biggest Coffee Morning which sees people from all over the country hold a morning for the cause.

The ride, also in aid of Macmillian, has been dubbed the ‘equine equivalent of a coffee morning’ and hopes to raise at least £1,000.

Belinda is a pro at fundraising for Macmillan after raising £1300 from a coffee morning in 2003.

This year she is hoping to go for gold and do something a little different by organising her first Charity Ride with the support of Central TREC Group.

Belinda said: “It is nice to be able to combine my absolute passion for horses with something so dear to my heart”.

The event involves riding a 3 or 8 mile course where there will be some TREC obstacles set out for riders to try.

Tickets cost £18 for adults and £10 for children if booked in advance or £20 for adults and £12 for children on the day.

Once the ride has been completed, there will be a full course of TREC obstacles set out for an additional £5.

There will also be cakes, refreshments and a tombola on offer at the event.
