PERSONAL Health Budgets have been introduced in Northamptonshire.

A personal health budget (PHB) is an amount of money to support a person’s identified health and wellbeing needs, planned between the person, GPs and NHS staff. Patients or carers then arrange and manage the care.

PHBs will be available by the end of 2012 for anybody eligible for continuing healthcare and, in future for people with a long-term condition.
