Have a say on wind turbine plans
PEOPLE can have their say on the guidelines used to assess wind turbine proposals.
A document, entitled Interim Guidelines for Assessing Proposals for the Development of Wind Turbines, sets out the factors the district council use to determine the application. It is these guidelines that Daventry District Council (DDC) is seeking comment on.
The council’s strategic planning and strategic health portfolio holder, cllr Kay Driver, said: “The guidelines will aim to give clarity to the issues that the council must consider when assessing these proposals and they need to be updated to ensure they reflect the recent changes to national planning policy.
“The issue of wind turbines is of great significance for many people living in Daventry district and we would encourage anyone with an interest in them to give their suggestions during this consultation.”
The consultation has been backed by a windfarm campaigner.
Adrian Snook said: “It is a good idea for local people to shape future development. People should get involved.”
The consultation runs until 4.30pm on Friday August 31 and can be viewed by visiting www.daventrydc.gov.uk/consultation. Comments can be sent to Robert Keith, Local Strategy Service, Daventry District Council, Lodge Road, Daventry, Northamptonshire, NN11 4FP or e-mail rkeith@daventrydc.gov.uk.
