Shoppers across the Daventry District are being encouraged to show their support for local, small businesses during a new national initiative in the run-up to Christmas.
Small Business Saturday UK takes place on Saturday to celebrate small businesses and encourage communities to support them at a key time in the shopping calendar.
Daventry District Council is one of the local authorities nationwide supporting the initiative.
DDCs economic, regeneration and employment portfolio holder, Cllr Chris Over, said: “Small Business Saturday is the perfect opportunity for residents to explore the many small and local businesses around Daventry and the wider district.
“Daventry town centre has a lot to offer shoppers, such as round-the-clock free parking and many niche, independent traders that give the town its distinct retail character. We must also not forget the valuable role that small businesses play in our rural communities.
