THE spirit of the Paralympics is arriving in Daventry with the final preparations for a 5km charity wheelchair push.

On Saturday, September 8 fundraisers will make their way from the Daventry Reach for Health Gym in High March around the town and back again raising awareness of the charity and its work.

The event coincides with the start of the London 2012 Paralympics Games yesterday and highlights a local need to support exercise and mobility causes.

Reach for Health work alongside people with chronic illnesses or injury to manage them into exercise as a way of helping with the pain of injury.

Anyone can get involved in the event either by taking part or sponsoring. For more information, call Reach for Health on 01327 871118.
