Fruit and veg stolen from town allotments

Allotment holders in Daventry are being warned to be on the lookout for thieves following a string of produce thefts in the past few days.

The Welton Road allotments have been targeted and several lots of produce stolen, the most recent of which happened some time between 5pm yesterday (Monday, July 25) and 7am today.

Netting covering the produce was ripped up and the produce picked by the thieves.

“We are also asking for those who live nearby to be watchful, particularly at night, and to report any suspicious behaviour.”
