The Easter egg hunt at Daventry Country Park returns this year with support from the Gusher, Daventry District Council, the town council, Tremayne & Belcher and the Friends of Daventry Country Park.

The annual event is being held on Easter Sunday morning.

Youngsters will be able to have lots of fun trying to find the hidden chocolate eggs scattered around the park on Easter Sunday, March 31.

They will also get the chance to take part in an Easter bonnet competition that will be marked by an independent judging panel.

The event has become something of an annual tradition and is organised by Daventry District Council and the Friends of Daventry Country Park.

Registration for the hunt begins at 9.30am at the park’s Visitors’ Centre, with the bonnet competition taking place at 10am. The egg hunt will then begin at 10.30am for the under fives and 11am for the five to 10-year-olds.

Tremayne and Belcher Estate Agents has kindly donated the eggs for the hunt, while Daventry Town Council has also given larger Easter eggs as prizes for the best bonnets.

The event is also supported by the Daventry Express. To gain free entry just bring along the coupon printed in the Daventry Express on March 21 or March 28.

Councillor Alan Hills, Community, Culture and Leisure Portfolio Holder at Daventry District Council, said: “The Easter egg hunt in the fantastic surroundings of Daventry Country Park has become something of an annual tradition.

“Every year more and more families come along on Easter Sunday morning to have some fun and try to find all the chocolate eggs that have been hidden.

“There will also be an Easter bonnet competition and it’s all completely free to attend so I would encourage as many people as possible to put it in their diaries and head down to the country park to join in with the day.”
