A PILE of fly-tipped rubbish causing a fire risk on a Daventry estate was left for six days before being cleared.

It took six days from when it was initially reported for DDC to start to clear it.

Samantha Collins, who owns the affected house, said: “Last Thursday there was clearly a house having a clear out as an array of items were dumped in the same area.

“I had not seen this till I got home late Thursday so called the council first thing Friday, and was told this had already been reported by another house on the Thursday who had seen the people putting it there.

“After speaking to the council I had basically been told that because the gentleman who deals with this was on holiday it wouldn’t be moved until he was back in the office on Tuesday.”
