Flasher exposes himself to three teenage girls in Daventry

A MAN indecently exposed himself to three teenage girls in Daventry this morning (Thursday).

It happened at 8.45 when the girls, all 14, were walking towards The Parker E-ACT Academy, formerly known as William Parker School, on the Welton Road at the back of Teal Close near the black path and allotments.

The man exposed himself to the girls who continued on their journey to The William Parker School. At no point did the man make an approach to the teenagers.

Once at school the girls told a teacher who immediately reported the incident to police.

The man is described as white, of medium build, in his 50s, 5ft11” and was wearing a dark coloured jacket with a hood, which was up and a black beanie style hat.

Officers are now working to establish who the man was and will be conducting both high visibility and plain clothed patrols near the school this afternoon and tomorrow morning while these investigations continue.

Sergeant for the Daventry Safer Community Team Sam Dobbs, said: “These girls did exactly the right thing and told the school as soon as they arrived about what happened to them.

“The school responded appropriately, immediately contacting us to report the incident, which we are now investigating.

“I would like to reassure parents that we are doing everything we can to find the offender and will have an increased presence of officers near the school this evening and tomorrow.

“We would always urge children to do exactly as these girls did. Tell an adult as soon as possible, whether that be a parent or teacher, or by calling 999 if they have a mobile phone.”

If anyone witnessed this incident or recognises the description of this man is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 111 555.
