The Parker E-ACT Academy in Daventry celebrated success with its first awards evening dedicated to honouring students’ achievements.

Organisers have hailed the evening, on Thursday last week, as a huge success.

The aim was to celebrate the success of the students across the academy with more than 90 students receiving awards on the night. These were for achievements across a variety of faculties, subjects and citizenship. Certificates for bronze, silver and gold in the Duke of Edinburgh scheme were also awarded.

Principal of the academy, Krysia Butwilowska, said: “It was a privilege to be a part of such a memorable evening in which the students took the centre stage.

“We wanted to have this evening to mark the achievements of the students because they are key to everything. We also wanted to recognise the efforts they have put in to help transform the school.”

The evening was led by head boy and girl Jordan Whitrow and Ashleigh Pomeroy who acted as hosts for the event. The key note speech of the ceremony was delivered by Sir Bruce Liddington, the director general of E-ACT who sponsored the academy. His speech focused on key values of the academy including respect, learning and success.

Katy Lee, from Year 10, received the Principal’s Award which was given for, among other things, her 10 per cent attendance and excellent attainment.
