PEOPLE thinking about joining the Daventry Town Council can find out more about the role at an event on Saturday, March 15.
Daventry Town Council will be holding its elections on May 22 this year.
There are no special qualifications to be a local Councillor (although there is a qualifying criteria) but you do need to able to commit to a few hours every month – whether it’s attending council meetings, reading council papers on community matters or catching up with local residents.
On Saturday, March 15 Daventry Town Council will be holding an open morning from 10am to noon, at its offices in New Street, for anyone who would like information about how to become a town councillor and what is involved. Current members will be there to answer questions.
A spokesman said: “Why not pop in and see how you could make a difference to your community?”
