DSLV students cook up a storm for guests

This term, Year 10 CoPE students at DSLV have been challenged to research, prepare and cook a three course meal for ten guests on a budget of just £80.

The students have been discussing their favourite foods, finding recipes and planning a banquet to say a big ‘thank you’ to the cleaning team.

Many of the students were very nervous at the outset but soon found their feet in the kitchen. Students prepared a delicious starter of kebabs followed by roast chicken breast, wrapped in bacon with roast potatoes and veg and a wonderful chocolate fudge cake for dessert. This was topped off with tea and chocolates.

The leader of the cleaning team, Kath said it was a real treat for her team to be invited and that they all enjoyed themselves. Tiffany Brownell, the CoPE tutor, would like to thank all members of support staff and Mrs Saunders for their help on the day and to say a really big well done and thank you to the students or their hard work and positive attitude throughout this project.
