Year 6 pupils from Ashby Fields Primary School in Daventry visited houses being built on the Middlemore site on February 26 and 27 to learn how the construction of 45 new homes is coming along.

As well as having an opportunity to sit on a digger, they also painted pictures on large foam boards which will then form part of the site hoarding. Work on the homes started last year by contractors Galliford Try on behalf of Daventry District Council.

They are due to be completed by the summer and 32 of the homes will then be privately rented out by the Council, while 13 will be affordable homes managed by East Midlands Housing Association.
