Peter, 64, learned his pottery skills at Worcester College of Education and started his teaching career in a secondary school.

After moving to Birmingham he continued his teaching career in Solihull, before setting up his first workshop and gallery in Yardley, Birmingham.

He went on to be the head of school of art at Rugby College in 1994.

Peter, who has published three books on pottery, said: “I am delighted to be returning to Worcestershire, a county with many wonderful memories for me. One of my earliest teaching experiences actually came at a junior school in Pershore on teaching practice.”

The exhibition takes place at No 8 Gallery, Community Arts Centre, 8 High Street, Pershore, until March 30. Visit www.petercosentino.co.uk
