Daventry’s MP spent time working in the town’s McDonalds restaurant.
Chris Heaton-Harris, MP for Daventry, met with local McDonald’s franchisee Glyn Pashley and members of his team this week, to find out more about how the business operates locally and to discuss McDonald’s community activity.
The visit allowed Mr Heaton-Harris to find out more about the opportunities for career development at McDonald’s and the nationally-recognised accredited qualifications offered while working, such as the McDonald’s Level 2 Apprenticeship and Foundation Degree in Managing Business Operations.
MP Chris Heaton Harris said: “I was delighted to meet Glyn and his team who are a credit to McDonald’s. Having personally run my own business, I know the importance of employing good people, providing good training, and offering opportunities for progression.
“Glyn is creating 20 additional jobs in Daventry this year offering real opportunities for young people which is great news for the area. I wish Glyn and his staff the best of luck for the future.”
Glyn Pashley added: “It was a great opportunity for my staff and I to meet our local MP, and for Chris to see just how hard we work to ensure our customers get the best possible service every day.
“As a franchised restaurant, we are essentially a local business, and I’m pleased we had the opportunity to show him our kitchen and restaurant operations and explain the many changes we have introduced in recent years to our menu and highlight our investment in our staff.”
