Futures Housing Group’s communications team has won a major national award for its outstanding work over the last 12 months.

The Midlands-based association, which manages more than 9,000 homes including what was formerly known as Daventry and District Housing, scooped the Small In-house Communications Team of the Year award at the Public Sector Communications Awards 2016.

The Futures team’s work over the last 12 months includes promoting the organisation’s digital services, award-winning money advice service, training company Access Training, apprenticeships and training opportunities to help local customers, recruitment of customers to scrutiny panels and the Homes For Britain campaign which called on the Government to end the UK’s housing crisis.

Mike Underwood, communications manager at Futures, said: “For a small team, we work hard and deliver some excellent results for the organisation and our customers.

“There were some fantastic teams shortlisted for this award so to win it is high praise indeed – we’re thrilled.

“It’s an exciting and challenging time for Futures, and the comms team has an important role to play over the coming months to help make life easier for our customers.”

Award judges said: “The judges felt that the Futures Housing Group has worked hard to deliver a strong communication service for the medium-sized housing association. Although faced with some challenges, customer satisfaction was the main focus. The campaign successfully delivered the message it set out to do.”
