Cyclist knocked off bike in hit and run

A HIT and run driver is being hunted by police after a cyclist was knocked off his bike on the A361.

The cyclist left the Texaco garage in Byfield on Monday at some point between 3.55pm and 4.05pm.

He crossed the road and cycled in the direction of the double roundabouts.

As he approached the roundabout a car pulled close alongside him. The cyclist crossed both roundabouts onto the A361 towards Daventry and shortly after the car collided with the cyclist’s handle bars forcing him to fall off the cycle.

The cyclist was not seriously injured but the driver did not stop.

The vehicle is described as a silver/grey coloured Honda Civic, ‘55’ plate registration, with the possible registration of VF55.

Witnesses to this incident, or anyone with information, should call Northamptonshire Police on 101 - alternatively, information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
