Confusion after buses stop running

PASSENGERS waiting for Geoff Amos services were left standing at bus stops this morning (Friday, August 5) when no vehicles turned up.

No buses were running on the GA01 and GA02 services, which run from Rugby to Daventry via Braunston and Willoughby, and then onto Banbury through villages along the A361.

Northamptonshire County Council said none of the services were subsidised by them and therefore were not affected by the two-thirds reduction in its public transport budget.

Stagecoach has told the Daventry Express that its Midlands and Oxfordshire divisions will be taking over the GA01 and GA02 routes from tomorrow (Saturday, August 6).

A Stagecoach spokesman said: “We have obtained details of Geoff Amos’s fares and will be running and the same timetable and same fares.

“We will in the fullness of time be introducing a revised timetable.”
