Guest speaker and TV broadcaster, Rev Canon Roger Royle, gave a comedic rendition of his tales as a ‘loose canon’ leaving guests in fits of laughter.
Guild committee members and event organiser, Sheila Baker, said: “The reverend was such a card and everyone enjoyed him.
“It really was a fantastic day with 100 guests – people travelled from as far as Stourbridge to come along.”
Guests Lucy Adlington and Merry Towne, from the History Wardrobe, were also a hit with visitors as they talked through the history and fashion of 18th-century women.
Mrs Baker said: “The day was about showing people that the townswomen’s guild are here because we have been in the town for 63 years and not everybody knows that.”
