The countdown is on for the grand finale to the Gusher’s year of fundraising for the Jago Worrall Foundation.
And it does not come much grander than at Fawsley Hall Hotel & Spa, near Daventry.
This week tickets go on sale for the Festive Charity Gala, on November 15, which aims to raise vital funds for two-year-old Jago Worrall from Welton.
The Foundation was adoptedby the Daventry Express as its charity for 2013.
The gala, which starts at 7pm, takes place in Fawsley’s Knightly Suite and, following a welcome drink on arrival, a four-course festive menu, including tea, coffee and mince pies will be served. There will also be live music and dancing to Northamptonshire-based band Mister P – and courtesy of High Times – and a charity auction later on in the evening.
Ensuring the event is kept running smoothly will be English toastmaster Garry Smith who has also donated his services free of charge. And floral decorations on the night are being provided by Welton florist Janet Marlow.
The evening concludes at midnight. Tickets are now on sale and cost £65pp with the option of bringing along a wrapped gift for under the Christmas tree which will later be passed on to Northampton General Hospital children’s ward.
There is also the option of accommodation for the night at a specially reduced rate of £150 per room (based on two people sharing and to include full English breakfast.) The usual rate is £250.
To book call Fawsley Hall on 01327 892000.
Jago’s dad, Barney Worrall, said: “Fawsley Hall is always our go-to place for any special occasion we had, even before we moved to the area. I cannot think of a better place to round off what has been a fantastic year of fundraising.”
Deputy editor Amanda Chalmers said: “This year the Daventry Express has been delighted to adopt this worthy campaign and have been instrumental in helping to stage a series of events to boost its coffers.
“But we are determined to end on a real high with the festive gala, which will also act as a fantastic celebration of the year’s fundraising efforts.”
“None of it could happen though without the support of our event sponsors Fawsley Hall, who have provided us with the perfect backdrop to the evening. Thanks also to Mister P, Garry Smith and Janet Marlow for their vital contributions.
“This promises to be a night to remember - and what better way to kick off your Christmas festivities!”
