PUPILS at a Daventry school made the headlines, literally, when they drew up their own newspaper page.
Year Six children at the Grange School had spent two weeks looking at newspapers as part of the reading and writing work.
Teacher Sonja Cavinato said: “As part of the project they were looking at newspaper reports as well as writing their own.
“We decided to give their work a theme and linked it into their history studies where they have been looking at the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, and we decided the moon landing in 1969 would be good.
“They had to research it themselves, come up with headlines and straplines, and pick from a selection of photos. One of the pupils was the editor who had to pick which story to put on the page and make all the decisions, plus check the spelling and punctuation, but it was a team effort.
“They all loved the project, particularly as they were given responsibilty for a lot of it, which was something they enjoyed.
