Charity seeks new home

A NEW base is being sought by the air ambulance charity that covers Daventry.

Bosses at Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance said they are looking for a 20,000 sq ft operational base and headquarters.

It is currently based at Coventry Airport but is set to expand in the near future.

Alex Toft, director of operations and clinical services, said the prospective move was “a key step” in the development of the charity and bosses were “confident of identifying the right solution for the improvement of the air ambulance service”.

The charity has now employed the property consultants Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) to search the wider region for the best site.

The site needs to have enough room for helicopter hangars, as the move will extend the reach of the service and allow the organisation to increase its fleet. Any new site is also likely to include a building to house an operations room.
