A DAVENTRY charity, which provides a safe environment to meet for families going through the stress of separation, has received a cheque for £1,000.

County Councillor Chris Long presented Children Come First with the money from his empowerment fund, which is used to support local good causes.

He said: “If I am able to assist in some small way to help sustain this group then I am only too pleased to be able to do so.”

He described the charity as ‘little known but much valued.’

CCF is a child contact centre which provides a meeting point for children and their estranged parents at the Abbey Centre in Daventry.
