Daventry Area Community Transport (DACT) is to benefit from a charity golf day hosted by Hellidon Lakes Golf & Spa Hotel.
The hotel’s 27-hole golf course will be used for the event, on Saturday (March 8) for the public and Sunday (March 9) for corporate guests.
DACT is the hotel’s nominated charity for the year and it was set up in 1993 to provide community transport services to the Daventry District. Today, it is an organisation with over 175 volunteer drivers operating a fleet of eight minibuses, and provides much-needed support to vulnerable people in the area.
As well as a full day of golf, the charitable event will include a light buffet and a Q&A session with the hotel’s resident golf professional Gary Wills. Entry costs £5 per person, with all proceeds going to DACT.
Christophe Gitton, General Manager at Hellidon Lakes Golf & Spa Hotel, said: “This is the first time we’ve hosted a golfing day to support DACT. We’re always looking for ways to help the community and we chose the charity because it is a cause close to the hearts of our employees. We’re really looking forward to next weekend’s event and the start of the golf season; we wish all existing and non-member participants good luck.”
