There was plenty of fun to be had at the annual Cyclefest being held at Daventry Country Park over the weekend.
Hundreds of visitors to the park enjoyed a wide variety of pedal-powered attractions.
These included five-times British and European Trials mountain bike champion Danny Butler and former Britain’s Got Talent contestant Joe Oakley showing off their skills with the Extreme Mountain Bike Show.
There were retro bikes on display, guided rides, wacky bikes to try out and races to be had on the pedal-powered Scalextric.
It was also a chance for people to use their power for some unusual activities which included blending their own fruit smoothies and even powering a sound system.
There was also a chance to have a cycling tour around the Daventry district.
The event, which is now in its third year, was organised by Daventry District Council, which was pleased with the success of the event.
The council’s community, culture and leisure portfolio holder Cllr Alan Hills said: “Cyclefest has kicked off a summer of great community events in our district.
“With the family Cinema Day in July, fun activities for youngsters during the school holidays and the WW1 commemoration on The Hollows in August, there will be something for everyone.”
The council has also thanked everybody who supported the event including Northamptonshire Highways, Leisure Lakes Bikes, Daventry Cycling Club, Halfords and the Mind mental health charity.
