Bugbrooke Cricket Club members were bowled over when they received a £3,000 donation.
House building company Bellway Homes handed over a cheque for £3,000 to the club.
And it could not have been a better start to the cricket season for the club which has been in existence in the village since 1926, as the cash has meant that the Club has been able to have its newly refurbished club house and pavilion professionally painted.
Bellway Homes are currently developing Church Fields in Bugbrooke.
The cricket club approached the developers for help as its facilities were undergoing extensive refurbishment.
Sales manager Elaine Brown said: “When Bugbrooke Cricket Club approached us for some sponsorship towards the club house, we were only too pleased to be able to help.
“We are thrilled that they have been able to put the money to such good use and complete the refurbishment to such a high standard. They now have a fabulous facility which they are all very proud of.”
Vice chairman of the cricket club John Curtis said: “To receive such a substantial amount of money from Bellway Homes has been a terrific boost . We are incredibly grateful to them as we now have a wonderful looking pavilion and club house which is something we have strived towards for a long time.”
