Blaze at Daventry recycling centre

A FIRE broke out at a town recycling centre yesterday (Monday).

At just after 1.50pm fire crews from Daventry and Long Buckby were called to Sims Recycling on the Heartlands Business Park where shredding machine and conveyor belt had caught fire.

The blaze was restricted to the machinery and no-one was injured.

The fire crews had returned by just after 5.05pm.
