The world record for the most number of miles driven in 24 hours on a motocross bike was set at Weedon Motocross track.

Simon Gill from Oxfordshire set the record starting at 10am on Tuesday, June 24 and finishing at 10am the following day.

The challenge was speed limited but took a lot out of him due to the vibrations on the bike.

He completed 354-and-a-half miles, beating the current record by three miles.

He said: “I am really happy. I was hurting a lot after the challenge but was really ecstatic. I know I’ve beaten the record but am just waiting for the official confirmation.”

He hopes to have raised £600 for Lupus UK with his efforts. To sponsor him, visit www.justgiving.com/Simon-Gill24/
