Arrests made in Daventry as part of ‘high impact’ day

TWO men were arrested in Daventry on suspicion of possession of a Class A drug with intent to supply.

The arrests were made after a warrant was executed at an address in the Hemans Road area, on the Headlands.

They were made as part of high impact day across the Daventry and South Northants districts on Friday, November 9.

More than 60 officers from different departments across the Force took part in the day as part of Operation Guardian.

Officers visited particular areas that have experienced a rise in thefts from vehicles in the last month, and motorists were given material which highlighted some simple crime prevention advice.

Teams provided a highly visible presence and patrolled residential areas on the look out for vehicles that had been left with valuables on display.

Officers were also carrying out speeding checks in the Brixworth area as well as conducting vehicle stops using ANPR to check any suspicious circumstances.

Chief Inspector for Daventry and South Northants, Dave Spencer said: “The High Impact Day was a great success – activity began at 7am and concluded at 3am the following day and the results are very pleasing.

“We received some excellent feed back from members of the public and we are pleased that people feel reassured that we continue to work hard to deal with offenders and engage with our communities.

“The day’s events demonstrate that concentrating our efforts on the rural areas of our county is equally important.”
