Air ambulance called to help injured horse rider

A HORSE rider was airlifted to hospital on Sunday (October 7) after falling from her horse while riding just outside of Daventry.

Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) was called to the scene of the accident at approximately 11.20am and set about treating the 33-year-old who was suffering from a back injury.

The crew administered pain relief and immobilised the patient before airlifting her to University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire for further assessment and treatment.

Equestrian accidents account for approximately 10 per cent of all rescue missions that WNAA attend.
