A local artist has released his first full production album Misfits featuring a number of local artists .

Will Rogers, who lives in Flore recorded the album in 2014 at Get Loud Studios with Tom Stilgoe (drums) and Andrew Stephens (bass and keys) of Northampton band Morning Chorus.

Will said: “I’m Northampton born and raised. Though I’ve always been into music I only started songwriting in 2011 during my third year of university, after discovering the likes of Catrien Maxwell and Kate McGill on YouTube. I tried my hand at songwriting and haven’t looked back. I started performing in 2012 after finishing my degree (zoology) and racked up over 100 gigs in 2013.

“Misfits is my first full production album,” Will said. “It features an eclectic mix of styles and subjects, ranging from traditional love songs to songs about realising that you don’t have to fit in to be happy.

“The album was originally intended as a six track EP, but graduated to being a mini-album after I wrote the final track, Dangerous Words In The Dark, and we felt we had to include it.”

Misfits was mastered at Fluid Mastering in London, where the likes of Frank Turner and Pixie Lott have been.
