A FUN day is being held next weekend to give local people the chance to try a wide range of different activities.
Daventry Fun Day, organised by Northampton College, takes place at the Daventry Campus in Badby Road West on Saturday May 26.
Highlights of the event, which has been running for the past three years, include a variety of performances and interactive classes from arts and crafts to fitness classes and flower arranging to facials.
There will be also be dog displays, making your own bath bombs and soaps, plus classes in bricklaying, carpentry and plumbing.
For those who want to get active, there will be zumba classes and Egyptian belly dancing.
For younger children there will be a display from Musical Monkeys. The group aims to provide stimulating confidence building interactive musical fun for accompanied pre-school children and babies.
There will also be performances from local musicians and dance schools who will be providing entertainment throughout the day. Cream teas will be served in the restaurant.
A spokesman for the college said: “One of the key aims of this event is for local people to get involved and have fun while gaining the opportunity to learn a new skill they may otherwise not have had the time or chance to do.
“We are still looking for a variety of performers and exhibitors to take part in the day so if you have a skill you can teach or are a budding performer please do get in touch and let us know.”
Anyone going along to the event can also win a Nintentdo Wii console.
The event runs from 10am to 6pm and the funds raised will be donated to Pete Spencer’s Helping Hands Memorial Fund.
