A DAVENTRY man will soon be throwing himself into a stunt for charity.
Paul Smith, who lives on The Haystack in Lang Farm estate, Daventry will do a parachute jump on Saturday, August 30 in Nottingham in aid of Help for Heroes.
In a bid to help his fundraising Mr Smith organised a private party at Casey’s Club on Saturday which saw live music from Trip to the Sun, a DJ set and raffle. The event raised £920 but a donation from the club’s owner Keith Marlow rounded the total up to £1,000.
Mr Smith said: “It was a really good night, a huge thank you to everyone who helped out with the party.”
The money will be used to pay for the 13,000 feet jump.
Mr Smith added: “I am quite excited about doing the jump because I know I am doing it for a good cause.
“You hear lots about the servicemen and women who die, but not about those who are injured and Help for Heroes really supports them.”
