A GROUP for children with disabilities in Daventry is celebrating after a new pirate boat moored in its play area.
The Honeybees and Stars group, based at the Grange Family Centre, off Staverton Road, was given a new wooden pirate galleon by the Daventry-based Pete Spencer’s Helping Hands Memorial Fund.
The boat replaces a play house stolen in January.
Nick Adams, group leader, said: “It’s great to have this boat – the children are always straight on it when they go outside. Thank you to Helping Hands and the people who donate to the fund.”
The group caters for local children with disabilities as well as providing a social hub for their families.
