YOUNGSTERS at a day centre in Daventry have been raising money as part of Jeans for Genes Day.

Children at Angels Day Care Centre in Sheaf Street paid £1 to wear their jeans to the centre on Friday.

They also bought in old pair of jeans which were cut up by the children and used to create big letters of Angels.

The centre’s manager Helen Anthony said: “They all really liked it and they all enjoyed taking part.

“The nice thing was that we managed to turn into an art and crafts activity, it obviously made it something that all of the children could take part in.

“We were also able to talk to the children about the meaning of the day and how some children are not as fortunate as others.

“It meant the children could talk about there experiences of going into hospital.”

The centre managed to raise a total of £50 on the day.
