A Daventry man has helped to raise more than £8,000 by doing a bike ride from London to Paris.
Julian Twocock did the 460-kilometre ride earlier this month to raise funds for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.
He said: “I will never forget Cycling up the Grande Armme and seeing the Arc de Triomphe coming into view with people clapping and cheering as we headed off to the Eiffel Tower.
“The number of people who we saw on route with lots of children waving clapping and drivers tooting all added to the experience, especially as the traffic was stopped as we cycled through Paris with our motorcycle escort ala Bradley Wiggins was terrific.”
He held a market stall in Daventry before setting off on his journey to raise further funds for the charity.
Mr Twocock addedL “Thanks again everyone for your support on the Market stall and for your sponsorship of my bike ride. The final figure looks at being around £8,601.00 which is fantastic.”
