A charity ball in Staverton raised nearly £10,000 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA).
Alex Bunn, 23, chose to support the charity after losing her grandmother, Julie Haynes, to the incurable disease in 1993.
Alex became friends with Kath Dark who lost her husband to MND seven years ago. The pair organised the ball which was held at Kath’s farm just outside Staverton to which 363 guests were invited.
Guests enjoyed drinks on arrival, a three-course meal, raffle, auction and music. A total of £9,418.54 was raised for the charity.
Alex said: “The MND Association is important to me because it is not only funding research but it provides a support network for sufferers and their family.
“It’s the friends and family who have to deal with watching a loved one suffer and this is the most difficult part.”
