AN APPEAL has been made for help with a charity lunch and summer fayre taking place later this year.
At the launch of the event on Monday, at Bay Tree Cottage Workshops in Farthingstone, people were being invited to come forward and help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support and Cynthia Spencer Hospice.
Organiser Jenny Dicks said: “These two charities are both ones which have touched a lot of people in the local community.
“We are looking for people to help us now either by buying things or making donations.
“If people wish to make a cake or donate prizes for the raffle or the tombola then that would be very much appreciated. We are also seeking sponsorship for the day.”
The events take place on Friday, June 29 starting with a charity lunch with tickets costing £15 and includes entrance to a summer fayre. Entrance for the fayre only is £5.
A picnic ball will also take place on that evening and entrance for this is £25.
A similar event last year raised £8,000 for Macmillan.
