A Heartstart project has been launched in Daventry.
The British Heart Foundation initiative is available at Reach for Health and will teach members of the public essential basic life-saving skills.
The first session took place on Wednesday last week and saw people who work at the High March based gym trained to teach the sessions.
Jo Davis from Reach for Health said: “There are sessions like this in Northampton and in the north of the county but this is the first time there is something like this in Daventry.
“We will be teaching people how to do CPR right through to putting people in the recovery position and helping people if they are choking.”
The next session will be taking place on Wednesday October 16.
