Raising awareness of breathing problems

A TOWN support group for people with breathing difficulties has been busy drumming up support and funds.

Group chairman of the Daventry Breathe Easy group Jean Rhodes said: “The tombola was a success. We were raising money for the group, but we were also trying to raise awareness.

“We meet once a month and have different speakers or entertainment.

“We’ve had medical speakers, but also someone who was talking about snakes and brought in reptiles. “We also do trips out. We’ve got one coming up to Bicester Village and another one to the Bullring in Birmingham.

“It’s a social and support group for anyone who has problems breathing, or their friends and carers.”

The group meets on the third Monday of each month at 2pm in the New Street Day Centre near Tesco and anyone wishing to join can just turn up.
