Fundraisers dusted down their ballgowns and DJs to help a little boy from Newnham who is suffering from a number of health problems.

More than 100 people enjoyed a night of glitz and glamour at Fawsley Hall Hotel before dancing the night away recently.

The night was held to raise funds towards the care of Harry Charlesworth, who suffered severe brain damage due to a traumatic labour and birth in March 2015.

Harry has spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy and it is likely his health will deteriorate as he continues to grow.

Ball organisers were thrilled with the night, which raised £12,119, incorporating ticket sales and the auction.

Items sold included holidays in Scotland and Sicily, as well as an award-winning soundbar, plus driving experiences with Aston Martin and Porsche.

Hayley Charlesworth, Harry’s mother, said: “It was an incredible event and we are very touched by the generosity of both Fawsley Hall who supported and hosted the event, and all the attendees who dug deep during the charity auction.

“Every penny of the money raised will help care for baby Harry, making a huge difference to his day-to-day life.”

A second ball is being held at the venue on March 31, but tickets are limited.

They cost £50 each, which include a three course meal, with all proceeds going to the Helping Harry Trust.
