Teenagers from Daventry were among more than 800 from across Northamptonshire who have been recognised for their summer-time achievements during a special graduation ceremony.

The 16 and 17-year-olds have completed the four-week National Citizen Service (NCS) programme by spending their summer taking on new challenges, developing skills and supporting their communities.

They have been presented with a certificate signed by the Prime Minister at a graduation ceremony held at Northampton University.

Phil Everett, communications manager for NCS EM1, which delivers the scheme in Northamptonshire, said: “Each and every one has given it their all, grown as individuals and really made a difference in their communities.”
