A tale of lies, mistaken identity and murder can mean only one thing, it is the latest show from The Official Agatha Christie Theatre Company.

A tale of lies, mistaken identity and murder can mean only one thing, it is the latest show from The Official Agatha Christie Theatre Company.

Adapted from her book Five Little Pigs, Go Back For Murder is the story of a daughter, who discovered her mother was innocent in her father’s killing. But whodunnit?

There is a certain style in playing a piece written by the queen of crime is the actors all have a great time playing over the top characters.

Lysette Anthony is clearly having so much fun playing an ingenue but also someone so despicable that is deserves contempt. There is a delicious juxtaposition in Liza Goddard’s governess who at one moment is speaking murderous thoughts and the next offering tea and biscuits to guests.

It is fair to say the atmosphere is a little stagey, and there is very little in the way of action, but an Agatha Christie piece is always about the plot and the surprise of whodunnit. And that makes it worth a watch.
