Fundraising garden party

IT WAS tea and cake in the garden for charity when a fundraising garden party was held.

Time2Talk held its annual summer garden party on Thursday last week in the Flore garden of Johnnie Amos, presenter of the BBC’s Kitchen Garden Show.

Andy Nixon, who manages the service, said: “It was a good networking opportunity with lots of nice people that came along.

“It gave us an opportunity to talk about our work and for Johnnie to talk about his plants.

“All the money raised will go towards our core costs. It’s a drop in the ocean really but every little bit helps given the uncertain financial period we’re facing.”

Daventry-based Time2Talk runs counselling, advice and other free services for teenagers and young adults.

Recent cuts in grants from Northamptonshire County Council have put pressure on the service.

A total of £330 was raised by the garden party, all of which goes to the service.
