Two friends from Daventry will be undertaking a sponsored skydive in aid of Cancer Research on Saturday.

Long time friends Craig Chambers, 49, and Mark Cox, 45, got together to do the 12,000 ft skydive after they both lost close friends to cancer. So far they have raised £480 of their £1,000 target.

Craig, who lives on Livingstone Road on the Ashby Fields estate, will be paying all the costs of doing the jump so that every penny raised goes to charity.

He said: “Everybody knows somebody who has had cancer.

“A lot of my family have suffered from cancer. But what really brought it home was when a close friend died recently.”

Mark, who lives on Badby Road will be jointly raising money for Cancer Research and Prostate Cancer UK.
