Flavour of the past comes to the Daventry area

VARIETY will be the spice of life as am dram groups in the Daventry area put on a wide range of shows.

Carole Davies and Valerie Schofield, pictured, from Braunston Players are among the cast for the group’s A Palace of Variety. The four part show includes two music hall pieces, a potted pantomime and a specially adapted version of A Christmas Carol.

It runs from this Wednesday to Saturday, November 26 at Braunston Village Hall. Doors open at 7.30pm and tickets, at £6 each, can be bought by calling 01788 891310.

Chipping Warden Church Players present a variety show running for two days starting tomorrow (Friday) at 7.30pm each night. Tickets cost between £4 and £7 each and available from 01295 251314.

The Flore Boards present A Bit on the Side at the village’s Millenium Hall. The first half is a show called Don’t Blame It On The Boots about a theatre group preparing for their first night performance. The second half is sketches and songs and a one act play.

Tickets are £5 for adults (£4 concessions). It starts at 7.30pm on Friday, December 2 and Saturday, December 3. Call 01327 340269 or 01327 341026.

The final variety show will be from Guilsborough Music and Drama Society.

Under the umbrella theme of the Grimley Cracker Factory’s Staff Christmas Show, there will be plenty of entertainment and the audience will be encouraged to get involved.
