A salon in Daventry is offering keen sunbathers a chance to get an early start on their tan with a charity raffle for prizes including holiday vouchers worth £250.
Orlenka’s Beauty & Male Grooming, based at 13a High Street, has been run by Orlenka Sydorenko and Shane Collins since 2009.
Now having recently expanded their upmarket business into the ground floor of their existing property, the couple are hoping to put their salon on the map while raising funds for the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA). It is the latest in a series of fund-raisers organised by family members of 34 -ear-old Jamie Collins, who died after his car collided with a Transit-type van on the A361 in January 2014.
Both drivers were airlifted to University Hospital Coventry, where Jamie sadly later died of his injuries.
In August last year thousands of people attended a fundraiser at Daventry Town Football Club, raising around £10,000 for the WNAA, which is entirely funded through such donations.
Each potentially lifesaving flight by the air ambulance team can cost up to £2,500.
Ms Sydroenko said: “I think it is a way of remembering as well as keeping him in everyone’s memories.
“I know it also helps Shane and his family.
“We have had lots of people who have come in to buy tickets, they have been going quite quickly.”
The tickets, which cost £5 a strip, offer the chance to win £250 worth of vouchers which can be used on anything from a week abroad, theatre trips or a weekend in London.
Also up for grabs is a sun bed course at the salon and a bottle of champagne. All profits from the raffle will be donated to the WNAA.
The raffle closes at the end of the month.
