A TOWN firm has been defending its British Firework Championships title this week.
MLE Pyrotechnics are down in Plymouth for the event, which took place on Tuesday and Wednesday night.
The firm won the competition last year after putting on an explosive display.
Five of the country’s leading fireworks display companies went up against them this year for the crown.
Held over two nights, each of the six competitors are expected to produce a 10-minute display resulting in over four tonnes of fireworks being used to light up the Plymouth skies.
The championships attract an estimated 200,000 spectators each year.
