The festival will feature entertainment for people of all ages, with a mixture of music, dance, art, theatre and exhibitions showcasing the best in local talent. Many of the events and activities are completely free of charge, including a Summer Samba live music event on New Street Rec, organised by the DDH Youth Board and supported by Daventry Town Council.
Last year’s photography competition will also return this summer as aspiring local snappers are encouraged to submit their work.
Other highlights throughout the three-week festival include the return of the Strictly Daventry ballroom dancing competition run by Kate Fisher Dance Academy, Daventry’s open air cinema event held at Daventry Country Park, various art and design workshops and concerts by the Daventry Choral Society, Daventry Brass and The JuditSingers.
Sarah Sims, community development officer at DDH, said: “We are delighted to be able to once again support this popular local event.
“Having an extra week will enable us to showcase an even greater variety of performances, activities and events and will truly contribute fun and enjoyment for local people of all ages.
“We are looking for local groups and talented individuals such as artists and authors to join in the festival. If you would like to get involved please get in touch as we want to be able to showcase the local talent that Daventry possesses.”
