A DONATION of £500 has been handed to DACT from the family of a man who was helped by the service.
Alan Matthews, of Sourton Place in Daventry, passed away in January but had been a regular user of the service, which provides lifts to and from medical appointments.
One of his wishes was to donate the money in order to support the service, and this week the cheque was presented.
Mr Matthews’ daughter Roslyn said: “During the period of his short ill health dad was greatly helped by the services of DACT.
“He particularly valued the patience of friendly and courteous volunteers who drove him to various appointments and waited while he received treatment.
“Myself and his wife Nancy are very proud to fulfil his wish to make a donation to assist DACT in their work.”
